2023 Acura Integra Engine – Now, Japanese vehicle manufacturers are trying to revive the most iconic names in the history of their car manufacturing in the past. An example is the Toyota GR Supra and Nissan Z which were recently launched as new cars. So, following these cars, CEO and vice president of Acura, Jon Ikeda, announced the launch of the 2023 Acura version.
Now, as an iconic and most recognizable car, of course many are wondering about 2023 Acura Integra engine. So, what's the engine performance like? The following review will explain it for you.
2023 Acura Equipped with 2.4 Liter Inline-Four Engine
The 2023 Acura Integra is equipped with the K24Z7 which is the powertrain for this latest Honda Acura. Although many say that the K24 is not as good as the B18C type engine, it is hoped that the engine will still adapt some of the characteristics of the B18C model.
It is also said that the new car has an automatic option. However, Acura loyalists say they wish the car had front-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual.
1.5 Liter Turbocharged Inline-Four
The 1.5-liter turbo-four engine is known as the best powerplant in its class. This type of engine is used in all types of Honda today. Since the 2022 Honda Civic still uses this engine, it is very likely that the 2023 Acura Integra engine will also adapt it. Now, as additional information, in the Acura Si car specifications, the engine with four small bangers is capable of producing 205 horsepower and 192 pound-feet (equivalent to 260 Nm).
With this machine, it is hoped that there will be an option for an 8-speed or 10-speed automatic DCT unit. This will result in an increase in performance from the 2.4 L or Integra car base engine.
Hybrid Version Also Provided
Jon Ikeda also confirmed that the latest Acura car will come with a hybrid version. This is because the MDX and RLX already have their own hybrid sports version, so Acura will follow suit. However, Ikeda said that this could not be raised when it was first launched.
Well, the hybrid powertrain itself will be focused on the 1.5-liter turbo-four engine. The version will be all-wheel-drive and will most likely be available in an automatic version only. Meanwhile, the power output of the hybrid version is expected to provide 256 hp and 253 pound-feet (about 343 nm).
2023 Acura Integra Engine Performance Test Results
Based on test results, the A-spec 6-speed manual test car can reach speeds of 60 mph in just 7 seconds. Meanwhile, for the A-spec with CVT, the speed is 0.1 seconds slower for speeds of 60 mph.
During the test-drive, the 2023 Acura Integra engine makes that car more agile than the previous version. The steering wheel is quite heavy, but very satisfying because it has adaptive dampers that allow the driver to choose between cruising travel or setting for cornering mode.
